FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Foundation Source, the nation’s largest provider of comprehensive support services for private foundations, today announced an ongoing series of continuing education seminars to help financial advisors expand their knowledge around charitable giving and incorporate philanthropic services into their practices.
In addition to knowledge sharing, these in-person seminars provide continuing education credits for those financial advisors who hold the CFP® certification from the CFP Board; CIMA®, CIMC®, and CPWA® certifications from IMCA; and CRPC and CRPS certifications from the College for Financial Planning. Continuing education credits are also available to CPAs in those states that recognize certification by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
“Advisors have consistently demonstrated their desire for increased education around charitable giving and philanthropy,” says Foundation Source Chief Distribution Officer Joseph Fuschillo. “Not only is it the right thing to do for their clients, but as a byproduct, it can help them expand family relationships and grow their practices.”
The inaugural, intermediate-level seminar covers “Incorporating Charitable Planning into Your Practice.” Content for participants includes:
- Size and Scope of the Charitable Giving Market
- The Importance of Charitable Giving to Your Practice
- Giving Vehicles: Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) and Private Foundations (PFs)
- Pros and Cons of DAFs and PFs for Individuals and Families
- The Basics of Private Foundations
- Integrating Charitable Giving Into Your Practice
- Client and Prospect Scenarios
Foundation Source has conducted this complimentary, in-person seminar in over 25 locations since April of this year. To find out whether an upcoming session is scheduled for your area, please email Keith Douglas at kdouglas@foundationsource.com.
Topics for additional seminars will be announced in the near future.
These educational seminars are in response to a need identified by a Foundation Source survey of financial advisors. The survey, “Good Works, Better Business,” conducted in April, found that 78% of financial advisors were “interested” or “very interested” in developing their knowledge around philanthropy. “Good Works, Better Business” may be downloaded in its entirety here.
